How would you define Smart Party? What is your speciality?
Smart Party is a medium structure catering company that can cater up to 1500 person events; we emphasise that customers can totally rely on us and enjoy their parties like any other guest.
For what kind of events do you usually get more demands?
We cater from private parties to corporate events, I would say that it depends on the time of the year… But we definitely do a lot of exhibitions and office opening parties.
What type of catering would you recommend to conquer a Shanghainese heart?
I would say that you need to be quite flexible and have a range of Menu that can fit most budgets.
Some curiosity about food etiquette in Shanghai?
The Chinese “rule” in dining with friends or business is to order as many dishes as there are guests, plus one. But if you’re an even-numbered people, this will put you at odds in numbers and in fortune. An odd number of dishes will bring bad luck.
What are the most important events held in Shanghai?
There’s a lot happening in Shanghai! Since I also have a passion for photography, I would say Photo Shanghai. And of course, I have to mention the Bund Classic, the most prestigious classic car showcase in Asia.
What is your favourite place in the city? Why?
Hua Hai Middle Road and the whole surrounding area, which is the heart of the city. I’ve hanged out there a lot when I arrived in Shanghai and I have a lot of good memories.
What restaurant would you recommend us? Any particular plate?
I would recommend Mercato on the Bund, the food and decoration are really nice, go for the veal shank, it’s a must.
No tourist can leave Shanghai without visiting…
the Bund, of course! It houses many buildings of various architectural styles, sculptures, monuments... It has an extraordinary view, especially by night, when you can see Shanghai’s colourful lights!
